The Citrus Grove Elementary Media Center is a place for the entire Citrus Grove community! Students, staff, and families are invited into the library every day from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. After 2 p.m. students must be accompanied by an adult.

Procedures

Kindergarten and First Grade may check out one book for two weeks.

Second-Fifth Grade may check out two books for two weeks

Parents may check out five books at one time for up to two weeks.

We do not have late fees, but students are responsible for the entire cost of any lost or damaged books.
Reading Counts is our reading incentive program. Students read books and earn points by passing a ten question comprehension quiz using the RC app in their VPortal.

Students can shop at the Reading Counts store, monthly, when they have earned points at these levels:
K/1- 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100
2/3- 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180, 200
4/5- 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500
Students in grades 3-5 are encouraged to read the Sunshine State Readers. They can earn charms, an invite to vote after reading three, a shirt and a party after reading all fifteen. Grown-ups are urged to read about the books on Common Sense Media to decide if a book is right for their child. Students should come to Ms. Young if they feel like the books aren’t right for them. Ms. Young will swap out the books to different age and grade level appropriate books.
